Suwannee Hulaween Preview: Five Festive Halloween Drinks

Suwannee Hulaween is only a couple days away and we couldn’t be more stoked. While you’re getting all your stuff together for camping, whatever you do, don’t forget the refreshments! We’ve put together a list of some festive drink ideas that you can share with your whole crew.

1. Not So Solo Cups

Easy-Halloween-Cup-Ideas.001

What easier way to give your drinks a little Halloween flare than by decorating the cups you’ll be drinking out of? Opt for orange Solo cups and hot glue little googly eyes, or use a sharpie to draw different jack-o-lantern faces. Really, anything is fair game. This seems like a perfect time to break out the rhinestones, but that’s just me.

2. Blood Boil

Whomever came up with this idea, rocks! But really though, all (corny) jokes aside, I’m really excited to try this.

  • 1 part strawberry vodka
  • 1 part strawberry daiquiri mix
  • 2 parts champagne
  • fresh strawberries (optional)
  • a few packs of strawberry Pop Rocks

Start with a strawberry at the bottom of the cup (optional) and pour in a little champagne. Next comes the vodka. Slowly add the daiquiri mix before adding about half a bag of pop rocks. Your mouth will be poppin’ all night!

3. Bat Juice

  • 1 Liter Bottle of Sprite
  • 10 Black Twizzlers
  • Ice

This one you can make at home. Put about 10 Black Twizzlers into a liter bottle of Sprite. Stick it in a cooler and by the time you get to the Suwannee you’ll be drinking black bat juice! And, if you’re anything like me, a splash of vodka will be the perfect finishing touch.

4.  Bloodthirsty Mary

  • 3 cups tomato juice

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco

This you can also prepare beforehand in a gallon jug, or bring the ingredients and mix it fresh in the forest.

Although I’ll never understand it, I do realize that some people out there don’t like vodka. In that case, check out Parade’s list of the 8 Best Beers for Halloween because they  nailed it. Dogfish Head Punkin Ale? YUUMMM.
